The most exciting and wonderful holiday experience I have had is my holiday last October 2007 in Maldives. My husband and I decided to renew our wedding vows because I did not feel getting married in a drive-thru in Las Vegas was romantic enough for me and wanted something a little special.
When looking around for the perfect vacation I wanted somewhere exclusive, romantic, hot and a place where you would not find loads of young party animals. So I found a hotel called Anantara Resort in Maldives. On arrival at the airport in the Maldives we was greeted by the hotel representatives who then took us on a luxury speed boat which took around 30 minutes not too long and I did not feel like I was going to throw up, luckily for me as I usually get sea-sick.
When we arrived at the hotel we checked in then were shown around the resort and to our beachfront villa, which was wonderful. The marble outdoor bath could fit 4 people in comfortably so as you can imagine a great place to begin a romantic getaway.
The restaurants on the resort were great apart from buffet restaurant as I do not like to go and get my food unless I am at home; if I am in a restaurant I require full service.
I bet you want to hear about the big day, well it was amazing a true dream come true. The morning started off with a full body massage and head massage both for me and my husband. Once they had finished we bathed in a romantic bath filled with flower petals looking out into the Indian Ocean.
We then went back to our villa to get ready for the renewal of vows. The hotel manager came to our room with the photographer were he took some amazing photos of us on the beach.
They laid out petals from our villa to the ceremony which was held right in front of our villa, which was absolutely beautiful. You would have thought that as we had done it already I would not be nervous but I was. My husband and I walked down the petal sand trail to the preacher were we read our vows. I must admit I missed a couple of sentences with nerves but hey no one noticed. It was boiling hot and after our vows we went to the shade or my makeup was going to run off my face with sweat.
After a few hours of more photos’ and drinking they laid out a candlelit dinner in front of our villa which was enough food to feed 10 people. We had the chef at all times by our table for any seafood requests and a waiter filling our glasses full of pink champagne.
After a wonderful dinner we returned back to the villa which was dressed with a heart shape red petal flower design on the bed. More champagne and chocolates laid out on the table with traditional Maldivian music. They had run a scented petal bath for us to soak in.
The Anantara Resort a truly amazing vacation for any couple looking for romance and pure peace. http://www.jakeldaily.com
